King Mohammed VI Congratulates Leila Slimani, Winner of Prix Goncourt 2016
Rabat - King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to Moroccan novelist Leïla Slimani, winner of Prix Goncourt 2016 for her novel "Chanson douce" (sweet song).
In this message, the sovereign extends his heartfelt congratulations to Slimani for this top literary prize, which is a recognition of the uniqueness of the novel authored by the Moroccan writer.
“The award is not only an honor for you and for Moroccan women, but also an example of the competences, which our Moroccan community living abroad boast in the different fields,” said the message, adding that the “prize is the best encouragement for the writer to continue her creative work.”
