King Mohammad VI to Preside Over Traweeh Prayers on Laylat Al Qadr
Rabat - King Mohammed VI will preside over the prayer vigil of Laylat Al Qadr on Wednesday, June 21 at the Hassan II mosque in Casablanca, the Ministry of the Royal House, Protocol and Chancellery on Tuesday has announced in a statement.
“The Ministry of the Royal House, Protocol and Chancellery announces that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, may God assist him, will preside, Wednesday Ramadan 26, 1438 corresponding to June 21, 2017, at the Hassan mosque II in Casablanca, over a religious vigil in commemoration of Laylat Al Qadr,” stated the ministry.
This religious ceremony will be broadcasted live on the radio and on television at the time of the prayer of Al Icha on Wednesday.
Muslims consider Laylat Al Qadr to be the holiest night in the lunar calendar. It is traditionally celebrated on the 27th night of Ramadan and is believed to be the night in which the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel.
